This blog is about a holiday to Canada E. and I enjoyed for a couple of weeks in August 2009. It is intended for friends and family to show them where we went and what we saw.
This trip had been long in the planning but delayed by a number of impediments too boring to document here. Tired of waiting for this ‘trip of a lifetime’, in the end we decided to invoke the ‘Sod It’ principle and just go.
Here’s the journey mapped on to Google Earth (see the bright green line, east to west):

We flew to Calgary in Alberta and travelled by train to Kamloops, via Banff, and then on to Vancouver, British Columbia. We flew on over to Vancouver Island and stayed at Parksville and Tofino before flying back via Victoria and Vancouver.
This blog shows some of the sights we saw, the places we visited and the things we did.
Our itinerary is shown on the right. Click on any page and it will take you to that time and place. Once on that page there are links at the top to take you forward or back in time.
We hope you enjoy sharing our trip
Please feel free to leave comments if you want. (Because of the curse of spam I’ll moderate comments but all remarks left from genuine friends will be published).
